Local artisans, primarily elders, demonstrate time-honored techniques, providing rich photo opportunities centered on intricate handwork and rural life. The late afternoon light highlights the texture of bamboo and the artisans’ movements. Following this, we return to Hanoi for a welcome dinner, offering a chance to connect and review plans for upcoming sessions focused on capturing the city’s dynamic street scenes and cultural atmosphere, setting the tone for an immersive photographic experience.
Day 2 • Hanoi
Our photographers immerse themselves in vibrant cultural tableaux, capturing the vivid life of Incense Village, a locale celebrated in National Geographic. The journey continues through the countryside, where the interplay of red fishing nets and sunlit fabrics creates striking compositions. Urban textures and the dynamic pulse of Hanoi’s Ceramic Mosaic Mural provide further inspiration. At Ban Village, the focus shifts to the meticulous craft of soy sauce production, revealing intimate moments of tradition. Each scene is chosen for its unique light and texture, crafting a refined visual story that honors the region’s heritage and daily life.

Every meal we had was delicious. I feel lucky and blessed to have spent that time with such a great group of people...nice to connect with people who share the same passions. The whole tour was so well organized. Thanks again for helping me get my visa in time. Would love to come back sometime to see more of your amazing country. I feel like we just got a taste of the big picture . I hope our paths cross again my friend. Keep up the good work!

Over 10 days, we traveled across Vietnam, staying in excellent 5-star hotels and enjoying authentic Vietnamese cuisine at well-regarded restaurants. The itinerary balanced iconic sites with hidden gems, offering opportunities in landscape, street, cultural portrait, and even drone photography (if you don’t have a drone, I highly recommend bringing one just for this trip).

This tour vastly exceeded my expectations. It combined breathtaking landscapes with genuine cultural encounters, and I returned home with the best photography of my life. My only suggestion would be to include more background stories of the people and places we encountered — for example, the touching details of master artisan Mr. Luong Son Mac and his bamboo fishing baskets.

Overall, this is a journey I would recommend wholeheartedly to serious photographers who don’t mind early mornings. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime. Thank you, Viet!

Had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone.

We got lucky with the weather. Apparently Vietnamese weather forecasters are just as unreliable as the ones in the USA. 🤣
